How it works

EMI = P × i × (1+i)n / ((1+i)n − 1). The calculator simulates the loan month by month: interest accrues on the balance, the EMI pays it down, and at your chosen month the lump sum comes straight off the principal. Early money saves the most interest because it kills principal that would otherwise accrue interest for years. Check your loan agreement for prepayment penalties before paying.
