Under-order bricks and the masons stand idle; over-order and cash sits in a pile. Enter your wall size, brick size and wall thickness and get a realistic order quantity with mortar joints and a breakage allowance built in, plus the brick budget at today’s per-thousand rate.
Brick Calculator
How many bricks a wall actually needs — mortar joints and breakage included.
How it works
Each brick in the wall occupies (brick length + mortar joint) × (brick height + mortar joint) of wall face. Bricks = wall area ÷ that face area, multiplied by 1 for a single-width wall or 2 for a double-width (9-inch) wall, then increased by your wastage percentage and rounded up. Preset brick size is the standard 9 × 4.5 × 3 inch brick; change the length/height fields for modular or local sizes. Openings for doors and windows should be subtracted from the wall area first.
