Gravel and crush are ordered by the tonne but spread by the foot, so a two-inch mistake doubles your bill. Enter the area and depth to get the volume in cubic feet and metres, the weight in tonnes, and the delivered cost.

How it works

Volume = length × width × depth (converted from inches). Cubic metres = cubic feet ÷ 35.3147. Weight = volume × bulk density — loose gravel and crush typically run 1.4–1.7 tonnes per m³ (1.6 is a safe middle). If you are filling over soft ground, order an extra 10% for compaction into the soil. Delivery charges are usually per trip, not per tonne.
